While roofs are built to last, there will come a time when your roof needs to be replaced. If you have bought a home, or business, that was previously owned, it could be that the roof has not been properly maintained, or that the roof is simply towards the end of its lifecycle. If you are the first owner of your building, a roof replacement could be needed if severe weather has cause major issues that repairs cannot fix. Whatever the reason may be, if you are in the market for a complete roof replacement, have faith knowing that we can do that for you!
While most roof issues can be repaired, there will definitely come a time when a new roof is needed. One of the reasons that this could happen is that the roof is simply getting old and wearing out. We recommend that roofing is replaced, at least, every 30 years. Beyond that, if your roof is beginning to show several signs of weakening, such as leaks, dips, or majorly missing shingles, a replacement should be considered. Our goal with replacement is to make sure that you roof is structurally sound, so that it does not come down on the interior of the building.
One of the best things about a roof replacement, is that, in this process, we are starting from scratch. This means that you can choose which material your new roof will be made out of. If you previously had a shingle roof, but you now want a metal roof, we can give you that. If you want to keep shingles, but want them to be upgraded to more durable, and costly, shingles, that is also an option. We can give you suggestions on what works best for your area, but the choice is up to you.
The replacement process is the same as building a brand new roof, with a few, minor exceptions. Once we remove the old roof, of the roof structure is in good shape, it does not need to be replaced. This is the best case scenario. If your structural integrity is in tact, we will lay down a new underlayment; protecting you from water damage. Then, on top of that, we will either re-shingle your roof, or if you’ve chosen something like metal, we will lay those sheets down and fasten them to your roof
Benefits of Replacement
While roof repairs will definitely fix most issues, repairs are only putting a band-aid on a bigger problem. Over time, repair after repair will actually serve to weaken your roof. For this reason, the biggest benefit of roof replacement is that it erases the need for those band-aids and cleans the slate on bigger issues. Replacement might also seem more costly, upfront, but thanks to the savings you will have from not needing repairs, the cost will more than balance itself out.
